🎮 Open events
Non-guild team events — hosting Discord, solo/group apply, rosters, organizer review.
Open events (community events) are site-wide team events that do not require guild membership. Players apply solo or as a group; organizers review applications, form teams, and manage party layouts. Use them for pickup groups, community raids, or mixed rosters outside a single guild calendar.
Browse & share
- All open events — public list with status, game, region, and team fill progress.
- Each event has a shareable URL:
/community-events/<slug>.
- Applicants must log in with Discord and have a site account (in-game name recommended on profile).
Who can create
Creating open events requires the Community event organizer flag on your account (granted by site admins). Co-organizers and banned players can be set on the create form. Lead admin always has access.
Hosting Discord (required to open applications)
Every open event needs a hosting Discord server where the MMO Party Builder bot is installed. Set this on the create form or in the Organizer panel → Hosting Discord section before opening applications.
Create an open event
- Go to Create open event (when you have organizer permission).
- Set name, game, optional region, number of teams, and minimum teams to run the event.
- Choose Group applications: Full team only (preset roster size from game template) or Partial groups with custom min/max size.
- Configure team roster preset (bucket counts, e.g. tank/heal/support/dps), max same class per team, class limits from the game template, application window, co-organizers, and banned players.
- Pick the hosting Discord server (bot must be present).
- Save as draft or open applications immediately (opening requires a hosting server).
Applying
- Solo — pick preferred role (and optional class from the game template). Organizer can auto-form solo players into teams while applications are open.
- Group — leader adds members by Discord username search. Each invited member must accept via Discord DM or the event page before the group is complete and submitted for review.
- While status is applications open, eligible logged-in users see the apply panel on the public page.
Organizer workflow
- Open Organizer panel from the public event page.
- Open or close applications; use Auto-form solo teams to bundle solo applicants when roster slots allow.
- Review pending applications — accept creates a team (groups that applied together stay bundled); decline notifies applicants.
- Adjust team party layouts on the manage page: groups, slots, roles, and classes.
- Post event stats when finished. Creator or lead admin can permanently delete the event from the danger zone.
Discord notifications
Group invites and application decisions can notify members on Discord (accept/decline buttons on DMs where configured). Organizers see pending review counts on the manage page.
